OPTOS Retinal Imaging

OPTOS Retinal Imaging

We offer state-of-the-art OPTOS retinal imaging. We require that all of our patients have a retinal screening because it leads to the early detection of changes in the retina that may be associated with various eye diseases. Many of these diseases may not cause noticeable changes to your vision in early stages, so a thorough retinal evaluation can help with early diagnosis. Retinal imaging helps detect diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration glaucoma, retinal detachment, vitreous detachment and floaters, etc.

The OPTOS imaging will be taken at the beginning of your exam by an optometric technician before you see the doctor. The doctor will review the scans with you in the exam room, and this exam is a part of your patient record. The retinal imaging is fast, and can be done on patients of all ages.

There is a $25 co-pay for this exam, and is typically not covered by your vision insurance. This cost will be added to the price of your visit.
